Degraves Street is one of Melbourne’s most iconic laneways. When I think of what Melbourne is truly about – I think of Degraves Street. It’s got a European feel with the vast variety of boutique cafes and crowds. During lunch time on a weekday, this street is swarming full of people trying to grab a fresh sandwich, crispy crepes, tasty cupcakes, and most of all a delicious cuppa. I adore this lane way dearly.
Breakfast at The Quarter Restaurant Review
On my last visit to Melbourne, my boyfriend and I visited The Quarter for breakfast. We stumbled into this place as the blackboard breakfast menu drew us in with the sound of an Eggs Benedict and its open atmosphere which was bustling full of businessman.
Bacon & Eggs – A $8.50
Fried eggs served on toast and hashbrowns
Works Breakfast – A $14.50
Scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, pork chipolatas, field mushrooms, sautéed baby spinach and grilled tomatoes on toast.
The food was pretty good but the service was a little slow (I suppose because it was so busy) but we left feeling like we had a satisfying Melbourne breakfast.
The Quarter
27 – 31 Degraves St
Melbourne, Australia 3000
Even if you don’t eat at Degraves St, it sure deserves a stroll down to experience what Melbourne really is about.
