Before I even begin, I just want to say dining at Bodega was quite a disappointment.
We waited for almost 90 minutes for our food, and the waiters didn’t seem to know what was going on which was frustrating. Don’t get me wrong, in the end we still had a great time soaking in the warmth and humidity while sitting out on the patio of Bodega. Bodega offers a gorgeous patio on Baldwin Street, but that’s no excuse to make us wait that long to be served. To top it off, the plates were served all out of order and they even forgot an order.
Then once we did get served, the food wasn’t worth all that waiting either. There was something missing from the French Onion Soup, the potato and leek soup was ordinary, the two pan-seared scallops on my plate were not consistent – one was bigger and pinkier than the other and lastly, the poached eggs were way over cooked. French Onion Soup, Pan-Seared Scallops and Poached Eggs are all one of my favourite dishes, so it’s not like I set an extremely high standard here.
Nevertheless, the plates were well presented and appetizing to the eye but both my tongue and my stomach is what decides whether a restaurant is worth dining at and I’m sad to say that I wouldn’t recommend this place.
